Fruits

VIDEO ART video loop
DATE 2012
DURATION 14 min

2017, video installation A slow dolly shot moves across scattered fruits and vegetables, fresh and decaying, arranged like still life paintings. This abundance is quietly disrupted by male hands that peel, cut, or crush the food — sometimes preparing, sometimes destroying. These repeated gestures shift between care and quiet violence, rationality and waste. The soundscape blends street market recordings with natural sounds, processed electronically.

The sound moves between the organic and the artificial, mirroring the tension in the visuals — between seduction and decay, care and destruction, life and waste. The looped structure creates a hypnotic rhythm, where gestures repeat without resolution. The work becomes a reflection on consumption, desire, and the quiet violence that can lie beneath the surface of the everyday.
